Back in January I wrote about the murder of Cambodian trade union activist, Chea Vichea.

His two alleged killers go before a judge today and Human Rights Watch urges the court to carefully consider the evidence, following reports of forced confessions and political interference.

HRW calls the case "a critical test for the Cambodian judiciary."

“This hearing is a critical test for the Cambodian judiciary. We hope that the Appeals Court carefully considers the evidence in making its decision, rather than responding to political pressure.”

I hope so too. I wish the Cambodian government stops embracing corruption and stops assassinating those who oppose their corrupt views and behaviors. Cambodia and its people will have “freedom” only when its government embraces democracy.
