Discontent is already brewing among the inmates at Camp Delta -- and the official opening of the Olympics is still almost a week away.

I arrived back at Selete at just after 10 this evening to find that the official piss -- sorry, beer -- of the Olympic Games had run dry.

A gin and tonic was a poor second choice -- except there was no tonic either.

Perhaps the Olympic organisers had underestimated the capacity of the international press corps to drink themselves stupid, even when Heineken is the only lubricant on offer.

The fact that the bar ran out of beer when Selete is still less than half full bodes ill for the weeks ahead.

We have, however, put the Greek foodstuffs left in our rooms as a welcoming gift to good use.

In the absence of a tin of WD40, a glug of Cretan extra virgin olive oil is the perfect solution to a squeaky room door.

We're still trying to find a use for the sesame spread.

Find the most hated occupant of Camp Delta and lead a trail of sesame spread around his/her room. Guaranteed the local ant population will find it - added bonus is they won't bother you while they're busy on your colleague!!!!
