Man, you guys are difficult to please!

I've spent so long fiddling with the template these last few days that I haven't had time to write anything.

One thing that's become clear, though, is that the coloured background was a bad idea -- so I've changed it to boring white. Happy now?

It seems I won't be giving up the day job and becoming a web designer, that's for sure.

Maybe I should just bring the old template back and be done with it. Still, however ugly my template is, it's definitely not as bad as Matt Drudge's.

Stuart - you asked us for our opinion and we gave it. You can't exactly complain if you didn't agree with the feedback...

But, white was right. Boring? No, absolutely not. It just works better. Blogs should be about content, not poncey clouds and the like.

Enjoy Athens.

The background looks much better, and it does not hurt my eyes.

How come there is a big gap between the title of BEYOND NORTHERN IRAQ....and the title of daily news,i.e. Thursday, August 05, 2004? Can it also be fixed?

why not use the original background? As the designer I say I think other templates are better for text-only solutions.

To the person who expreiences a gap between the header and the post. Could you mention your operating system and browser (with version) please? In all browsers tested, your problem never showed up.

You're absolutely right, Pieman.

I did ask for feedback, you've given it, and I'm grateful for it.

I'm glad you think white is right.

Now I can concentrate on the content.

To Martijn,

My operating system is Window XP and the browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer(6.0). But I don't think these are the problem that causes the gap on Stuart's website. After all, I just click this link http://stuarthughes.blogspot.com and there is the gap.

I found that closing any other frames, such as my favourites or history frames, and maximising my browser window, moves the text to the top of the page.

Just a small point - could the archive sections be the other way up? You have current at the top, but then the earlier ones to the latest ones. I think it would be better if the current ones stay at the top, but then followed by the more recent ones with the oldest at the bottom....
