SANCTIMONIOUS TWATS

A picture that encapsulates everything I hate about Live 8.

I enjoyed the concert, but am absolutely bloody tamping about one thing:

In a weekend building up to the 60th anniversary of the end of WWII - and at a concert broadcast to *millions* - it appalled me that Scott Weiland from Velvet Revolver took to the stage wearing a military cap bearing the Nazi SS Death's Head 'Totenkopf' symbol. I watched the concert footage for 12 hours, and enjoyed it, but the memory of his shock-rock stage wear sits poorly with me - It makes me angry just typing about it...

If Scott Weiland had appeared wearing that hat in Berlin, he would've been arrested. Unfortunately, millions of people around the world (including Germany) had him beamed to their TV screens instead.

It would seem that nobody in the media even noticed - Fern Cotten fawned over him in her interview. She could maybe have asked why the **** he was wearing a nazi hat on the Live8 stage?!!!

Grrrr....
